2. wetdream by willy rodriguez (reviewed: 09/03/2026)

100/100

this album. is incredible. listen to it right now. or at least after reading this review!!

like with twin fantasy, i was introduced to willy rodriguez because i saw them mentioned on pinterest (lots of my music taste nowadays is from the pinterest algorithm gods (T v T)), and after listening to wetdream (the song) i knew i needed to hear the rest of the album.

every song on this album has such a beautiful but dark sound to it; the percussion, the lighter instruments like toy pianos and the orchestral segments contrasting loud drums, distorted guitars and screaming vocals perfectly. songs like *untitled*, snowing in las vegas, and heart lean into the lighter parts, while songs like dish rags, wetdream and revisited feature loud, dark sections. every song is a mix of these 2 sides, creating an album you can get lost in with how detailed and layered it is. the lyrics discuss very serious themes, especially on revisited, a 20 minute closer about how plainly horrible SA is and the viscious cycle victims go through. part 6 of that song is my favourite, the screams on "oh my god, it never felt so wrong" are so emotional it brought me to tears. lots of songs on this albums brought me to tears, honestly, and that part of revisited wasn't the only part to do so.

this album is honestly one of my biggest inspirations in my own music when it comes to sound. the sheer density of each song's instrumental is so beautiful.

in conclusion, i can either dance to this album from how good the songs sound, or cry my eyes out when reading the lyrics. GO LISTEN TO THIS ALBUM!!! the image to the side links to the bandcamp page for it!!

1. twin fantasy by car seat headrest (reviewed: 08/03/2026)

100/100

i first listened to this album because i saw it on pinterest and decided to give it a go. the affect it had on me wasn't immediate, and i didn't pay that much attention to to it back then (however, i also sucked at listening to music back then. i would skip through albums to find songs i like (T ~ T)). i forgot about it, and car seat headrest, for a while. then, more recently, in summer of last year, i decided to revisit car seat headrest.

i became obsessed with their discography; some days the only artists i listened to was them. i have the app airbuds, and one week i listened to 1800 minutes of car seat headrest
(T v T). every album had its turn for me to obsessively listen to, but twin fantasy was always (and still is!) my favourite.

what it means to me is very personal, so i'd rather not share on here, but it helped me discover more about me and my identity. thank you car seat headrest!!
